With the support of
6,226 donors
Our Boldly Forward donors ensure a new era at Kettering, one symbolized by the transformative Learning Commons, along with new scholarships for our students, program opportunities for current and prospective students, and resources to innovate.
Thank you to all our donors. Your generosity enables Ƶ to move Boldly Forward, building on our foundation of bringing theory and practice together through our distinctive cooperative education model. It’s unlike any other in the country.
Learning Commons
The Learning Commons signifies the future of the University, and Boldly Forward has made the building a reality. Designed to promote and facilitate collaboration in light, open, technology-rich spaces, the building will transform learning and social experiences at Kettering.
Campus Enhancements
The Learning Commons represents just one of many campus enhancements funded by more than $60 million in donations.
Other new and renovated spaces include the GM Mobility Research Center, the Harris Mobility Research Annex, the Charles J. Strosacker Chemical Engineering Classroom and Laboratory, d.spaces, the FIRST Robotics Community Center, the Dr. Jane Boon '90 and Norman Pearlstine Music Studio and Practice Rooms, our new campus gateway, and renovations throughout campus and at Atwood Stadium. These new and updated facilities enrich the Kettering experience for students, faculty, and staff and add vibrancy to our community.
Increased Scholarship Opportunities
Boldly Forward donations of nearly $40 million have doubled the number of scholarships available to our students, making a Kettering education more accessible than ever.
New scholarships like the BorgWarner Scholars program provide funding and co-op positions. These scholarships enable the University to recruit students that further the University’s commitment to STEM diversity.
The Keep Me Kettering scholarship fund has already assisted more than 240 students.
“Words cannot explain how thankful I am to receive this scholarship. It’s made a huge difference in my life and has given me the opportunity to not only attend Kettering, but to also go after my dreams.”
Programs for Current and Future Students
Boldly Forward donors contributed more than $30 million to support academic and extracurricular programs that enrich the Kettering experience for current and prospective students.
Students gain hand-on experiences—integrating theory and practice—through participation in competitions like the Society of Automotive Engineers’ challenges and service projects carried out by SAGE, the Student Association for Global Engineering. They also learn about diverse cultures through the International Club and explore international issues through the Model United Nations.
Hands-on experiences in our precollege programs help foster the interests of future students. AIM: Academically Interested Minds and LITES: Lives Improve through Engineering and Science open opportunities for minority and female high school students interested in STEM. The FIRST Robotics Community Center hosts summer camps for students in grades 1-12.
